The Carnival Kid

He was abandoned by his family when he was a child during the depression. He avoided being sent to an orphanage by running away and joining the hucksters and carnies of a traveling circus. He was raised by freaks, geeks, and con men. He joined the Navy. He fought in a World War. He learned to sing. He played with the Big Bands. He cut records. He found he could make people laugh. He did the clubs. He headlined in Vegas, performed on the Tonight Show, and killed them time and again on Ed Sullivan. He’s from another time. True story.

I took it that night we were all sitting around the gazebo. You know he doesn’t like to have his picture taken… but I stole this one when I had the chance.
