This wedding is featured on Hi-Fi Weddings, as well as the Seattle Met Blog, and soon to be in the UK’s The Daily Mail newspaper (yes! I’ve made international headlines).
Lisa Gant and Alex Pelling decided to ditch the safety of their livelihoods in Manchester, England, sell all of their possessions, and travel around the world for a couple of years. Oh, and they wanted to get married in every city along the way!
Wedding number eight for them took place in the Seattle waterfront’s Pike Place Market. It went down like a little wedding bomb. After getting ready in their camper van, they just showed up in the market with a minister. The whole thing happened in about ten minutes flat. Perfect strangers became wedding guests. Passers by started gathering and taking video and photos with their cell phones. When it was done everyone on the sidewalk cheered. Someone even threw bird seed. We found out later that Lisa & Alex are only the second couple to have ever been allowed to be married within the actual market itself.
