Truly, the highlight of this years Bumbershoot Music Festival was getting to meet one of my favorite radio/podcast personalities, Jesse Thorn. Adam and I watched live as Jesse interviewed actress/comedienne Janeane Garofalo for The Sound of Young America. Also, performing on stage with him was singer/songwriter Jonathan Coulton, and actress/comedienne Tig Notaro. When the show was over, while nobody was looking, Adam and I slipped onto the corner of the stage and through the wings. We passed a couple of official looking people backstage. The trick is to act like you’re supposed to be there. We followed the sound of voices to the greenroom. Of course, with Garofalo, Coulton, and Tigg in the house, there were plenty of minor celebrities to go around. As for who I wanted a picture with, it was no contest, America’s radio sweetheart, Jesse Thorn for the win.

I talked to John Hodgman on twitter a couple of times, and as a thank you he sent me a numbered and signed print of his latest piece of writting, “More Information Than You Require.”
Notice the #134 in the bottom right hand corner. A few weeks later, he sends me another thank you… this time addressed to Americanvirus… but by now, he’s lost count of the number. He thinks it might be #150 (?). But really, with so many of us to thank, how can he be sure?
“That is all”
