I guess you could call it serendipity. It was just about over a year ago. I was surfing the web and I came across a Vimeo channel featuring some videos from Mindcastle studios. At the time I wasn’t really interested in wedding photography but I was blown away by production quality of Mindcastle’s work. I remember having the passing thought that it must be cool making a living doing what you love and actually being commissioned to create works of art for your clients.
The next day I was at Caffe Ladro. At one of the tables down from me I saw two wedding photographers in a consult with a young couple. They were showing the couple the exact same wedding video I was watching the night before on Vimeo! When the consult was over I started talking to the photographers. They were Casey Warren and Danielle Krieger of Mindcastle Studios. I had no idea they were based in Washington, let alone in my neighborhood! I let them know I was just getting into photography and how inspiring it was to see their stuff online. They were super nice. They even told me about these PUG meetings I could go to if wedding photography was a direction that I’d like to pursue.
I emailed Danielle and Casey and asked if I could spend a day with them soaking up all the knowledge they could offer.
Well, the day was awesome!
