This shoot was so much fun! I hadn’t seen Wendy in years but thanks to the magic of Facebook, after a couple of false starts we were able to reconnect for a little photo adventure.

The last time I remember hanging out with Wendy she was tagging along with my girlfriend at the time and I, driving the west coast together on a road trip from Seattle to Hollywood. She and I were both being very heady reading Charles Bukowski or something and one of us started calling him Charo Bukowski after the spanish-american actress/comedienne Charo. Thus, Charo Bukowski was born! The rest of our trip was a constant barrage of Charo Bukowski impersonations. We’d squeak out mangled english faux Bukowski quotes in our best Charo accent… “I woke dees moorning een a mexican jail cell drowning een my own seekniss… cuchi cuchi.”

This never failed to make us laugh… over and over again. I think we were actually annoying everyone else we came in contact with along the way… but then again as Charo Bukowski might say, “All dees boring damned people. All over this earth. Propagating more boring damned people. What a horror show. The earth swarming weeth them…. (dramatic pause)… cuchi cuchi”

It was wonderful reconnecting with Wendy after all these years. She’s such a rock star. She’s so smart and funny. She had so many ideas and brought so much to the day. I hope you enjoy this sample of the shots we took as much as we enjoyed making them. I’ll be posting some exterior shots we did from this shoot tomorrow.
